Mohawk College’s part-time Office Administrator program is designed for individuals seeking to develop the practical and digital skills essential for a successful career in any office or organization. Office Administrators play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, often working as administrative assistants, receptionists, or customer service representatives. This program equips students with expertise in document preparation, record management, customer service, and other core office functions, while also building proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and internet research.
The program is delivered by industry-experienced instructors through a flexible, part-time format that combines online learning with interactive elements, including live video conferencing. Over two semesters, students complete courses in communication, financial foundations, digital communications, presentation skills, and professional administrative skills, among others, allowing them to enhance both their technical abilities and workplace competencies without interrupting their current employment.
What You’ll Learn
- Apply professional conduct and client service skills while adhering to workplace standards, ethics, and relevant legislation.
- Manage and coordinate tasks, communications, and meetings to support smooth office operations.
- Operate office equipment, technologies, and software to produce documents, maintain records, and handle basic financial information.

This is my second time attending this college, when I attended years ago it was a very different experience. The school held many events, frosh week was always a blast, the campus is massive, free gym membership on campus, and they have great selection of food, downside was parking was usually a nightmare. This year is a bit different, with classes online its a bit hectic, confusing and I knew it would be. In my course the professors are very supportive, the layout is making a bit more sense each day, the it department have been fantastic. One thing I will say is that it can be a bit difficult to get some answers from certain departments, but my course professors are doing a great job so far!
