Sutherland-Chan’s Massage Therapy program is designed to progress students through academic, practical, and clinical skills development. In the first term they encounter basic academic courses as well as an introduction to hands-on techniques. In the second term, the curriculum builds on the early sciences, advances technical proficiency, introduces clinical elements such as hydrotherapy, educates students about commonly seen musculoskeletal and cardiovascular conditions, and begins developing assessment and treatment planning skills. Term 2 students engage in their first public clinic (Student Clinic), where they treat healthy adults.
In second year, students encounter a greater emphasis on integrating their knowledge base and clinical skills to prepare them for working with patients who have more complex health conditions and pose more intense clinical challenges. They continue in Student Clinic and add the Specialty Clinic program, which begins in Term 3 with patients who are senior citizens and post-surgical units in hospital. In Term 4 it expands to include opportunities to work with on-site and off-site patients who have multi-faceted health challenges.

Student Reviews (1)
Did Intro to Massage and the the instructor was knowledgeable, classrooms clean and well-equipped and environment was warm and friendly while still serious about the material. I would recommend this without reservation.
