Western University’s Master of Professional Education program is a flexible, online program that allows students to balance work, family, and school all while pursuing a Master’s degree. Students will develop critical thinking and decision making skills while learning to integrate research methods and theories into their own professional life, aiding them in workplace problem solving.
Learners can choose from 11 fields of study, including applied behaviour analysis, literacy education, and teaching English to speakers of other languages, among others. This program is entirely online, except for a five day onsite component for students in the second year for teaching English to speakers of other languages.
Admission Requirements
- A 4-year degree (20 full courses or equivalent) from an accredited university; 3-year degrees are considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Minimum “B” standing (70%) or equivalent in the final two years of study.
What You’ll Learn
- How to apply behavior analytic principles across domains and populations.
- To develop situated, dialogical and transformative pedagogical projects, and co-construct curriculum with educators and children in early childhood programs.
- To develop the required competencies to become effective teachers of English.
