The Young Drivers of Canada Course is a beginner driver education course available in select provinces. Aimed at helping new drivers learn the skills needed to successfully pass their driver’s test and stay safe on the roads for a lifetime.

This program has two components: a virtual with live teacher learning and in-car lessons.

Driving lessons are conducted in-person, with a highly trained driving instructor. All in-car lessons are one instructor to one student.

The online learning modules are designed to help new drivers think like experienced drivers able to identify the problems and solutions needed to avoid each type of collision. It’s a way of thinking, presented through animations, text, images and videos that will become habitual over the course of this program.

The driving lessons are private, one-on-one in-car lessons provided by provincially approved, annually re-certified instructors. Throughout the course, each student will learn how collisions happen and how to prevent them.

What You’ll Learn

  • Risk perception
  • Gravel shoulder recovery
  • Threshold/ABS braking
  • Rear-crash avoidance
  • Head-on collision avoidance
  • Emergency braking
  • Brake and avoid techniques
  • Swerving techniques
  • Freeway driving

Dates and times vary depending on location. New classes starting weekly.

Young Drivers in Hamilton has the absolute worst customer service. They do not have enough driving instructors and you will spend weeks & months in-between in car lessons. They take forever to load your certificate with the MTO (a full week). They want you to wait 3 months between completing your in car lesson and booking your road test because they cant provide an instructor. The customer service phone line associates have the worst customer service skills of any company I know. They told me to book the road test myself and use my own car because they couldn't help me. I paid $1700 for the absolute worst driving school around. DO NOT USE THEM

I started my journey a few years back. Larry was my initial instructor, and I appreciated his teaching style greatly. I felt he gave me practical advice and his lessons were solid. Towards the end he sounded confident in my abilities. I moved at some point, and then Covid happened, so I never had the opportunity to complete my drive test with him, but appreciate the skillset he offered me. I later took a lesson with another instructor meant to focus on road conditions. While the road conditions were too nice to practice on, I did get an excellent lesson on highway driving that helped me to identify and kick a few bad habits, making me a more confident driver. His attention to detail and focus on my strengths helped me to reaffirm my confidence. I am now a fully licenced certified G-class driver.
