The Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication program provides a dynamic and industry-focused education, staying aligned with current trends, technological advancements, and cultural shifts. The program prepares students for careers in various creative fields, including illustration, branding, graphic design, visual design, art direction, character design, typography, storyboarding, interactive design, UI/UX, editorial design, publishing, digital media, and environmental design.
The curriculum is rigorous, featuring intensive all-day classes and a strong peer-support environment. Students learn from experienced industry professionals with extensive networks, gaining valuable insights and mentorship. To facilitate the transition into professional careers, students complete an eight-week industry practicum before graduation and showcase their portfolios at the annual Grad Show, attended by leading agencies and art directors in Vancouver. Study abroad opportunities are available through partnerships with Bisen College in Japan and Robert Gordon University’s Gray’s School of Art in Scotland. Third-year students also participate in a cultural immersion trip to cities such as New York, Toronto, or Mexico City.
The program is known for producing industry-ready graduates, equipping them with the skills, experience, and connections needed to succeed in the evolving design landscape.
