Northwest Culinary Academy’s One Year Culinary & Pastry/Bread Diploma program combines both the Culinary and Pastry Professional Programs as well as a 480-hour Industry Co-op.  It is intended for those who seek a more comprehensive education, with a wider range of skills and discipline.

The One Year Culinary & Pastry/Bread program exposes the learner to both the savoury and pastry world, two disciplines which demand their own set of technical, creative, and interdisciplinary skills. The program also keeps students in close contact with their instructors as their key support group as they grow and develop, from the first day of class to the last day of the co-op.

Through this program, students will complete the Professional Culinary Diploma program, an intense, professional program focusing on techniques, ingredients, global cuisines, creativity, modern thinking, and mindful values. Students will also complete the Professional Pastry/Bread Diploma program, an intense, professional program focusing on precision, science, artistry, classic preparations, and modern interpretations.

The chefs/instructors at NWCAV are exceptional. Timely feedback on everything, very motivating, teaching cutting-edge concepts and techniques, great recipes, uber clean and efficient kitchens and training facilities... But best of all, I was fully embraced by this community of teachers, admin and students. If you want to be a pastry chef, this is the place to get going now!

The intro courses are just straight up fun! I'm early in my studies but I'm liking my career choice and I am meeting so many people working in different parts of the culinary industry I didn't even knew existed.
