The University of British Columbia’s Master’s of Education program is tailored for the working professional who wants to become the expert in the office and advance their career. Learners can choose from two streams to follow in the capstone project or coursework route, or can opt for the thesis based Master of Arts in Education, each of which comes with a maximum timeframe of three years.

Throughout students’ time with UBC, they will experience a rich learning environment that blends educational theories, research methodologies, and knowledge frameworks all with a strong emphasis on how to apply these skills within the students’ own professional context. Graduates will be prepared to work in a variety of environments such as as a college educator, corporate developer, educational consultant, materials writer, or superintendent.

This program is flexible, allowing students to enroll part-time or full-time, and offering online courses.

Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with an overall average of at least B+.
  • Two years of related work experience.
