Niagara College’s Social Service Worker program is designed for students who are passionate about social justice and making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals, families, and communities. Grounded in an anti-oppressive approach, the program prepares students to deliver counselling, social support, and community services across diverse settings.
Learners benefit from two customized field placements, hands-on learning through simulations and case studies, and certification opportunities in non-violent crisis intervention. Structured around a group supervision model with in-person classes, the program also offers a dual admission pathway to a Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Niagara University. Graduates are eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Admission Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Grade 12 English.
