Since 1989 the Manitoba Institute of Trades & Technology (MITT), formerly known as South Winnipeg Technical Vocational Centre (SWTC), and the Winnipeg Technical College (WTC), is a stand-alone hybrid institution continuing to provide both secondary and post-secondary skills training. Under the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology Act, MITT’s mandate is to provide education and training activities in the fields of technology, vocational training and adult education, to assist individuals in finding and keeping employment, and to respond to Manitoba’s labour market needs.
Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) gives students a competitive edge by providing leading-edge technology and training from expert instructors in the three modern well-equipped locations, offering training in Health Care and Human Services, Business and Information Technology, and Skilled Trades and Technology. MITT continually strives to equip students with the theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience to connect education with employment.
