The Computer Engineering Technician program equips students with essential skills in computer networking and configuration, network security, and technical communications. It prepares them to address computer-related problems that can lead to significant costs and setbacks for businesses, whether resulting from major hardware failures or minor software incompatibilities. In addition to core courses in technical areas, students receive training in oral and written communications, customer relations, and teamwork. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations.

Upon graduation, students will possess broad-based, transferable skills that are in high demand. They will have a solid foundation for careers in configuring hardware and software for computer systems, as well as troubleshooting issues in systems both before and after delivery to customers or clients. The program also prepares students for industry certification exams, such as A+ and Cisco Networking.

Furthermore, the program is nationally accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board. Graduates are recognized by the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists as meeting all the academic requirements for certification in the Certified Engineering Technician (Ctech) category.

Hello everyone, I was enrolled at Fleming College in Peterborough, and I strongly recommend choosing another option. The professors here are extremely strict, and some lock their doors as soon as class starts, refusing to let in students even if they are just a minute late. There is little flexibility or understanding from the faculty, which makes the learning experience frustrating. I wish someone had warned me about this before enrolling—I regret choosing this college and feel like I wasted my money. If I could do it again, I would have gone to Humber or Sheridan instead, where students are treated with more respect and consideration. If you’re looking for a supportive and accommodating learning environment, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

At the “Frost” campus in Lindsay we specialize in Natural Resources, Enviromental and Wildlife programs. We have a number of unique features at this campus, including two onsite fish hatcheries and a fleet of boats used in the delivery of some of our programming. Our main varsity team at this campus is Loggersports which is basically competetive lumberjacking.

I am proud to say that my colleagues here are skilled, knowledgeable and absolutely dedicated to student success. We are welcoming and open to people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures and gender identities and preferences. Canada is an awesome country that is world renowned for quality of education and we here at Frost are proud to strive to uphold that reputation.

However, this is Canada and winter is the real deal here, and at this school we embrace it fully. Bring your toque and your boots.
