The Medical University of the Americas (MUA) offers an MD program that combines comprehensive medical education, hands-on training, personalized support from dedicated faculty, and a wide range of student enrichment opportunities. MUA holds internationally recognized accreditation, and its graduates are eligible to practice in all 50 U.S. states, Canada, and internationally. The university offers a 10-semester curriculum designed to prepare students for residencies and medical practice in the U.S. and Canada.
The first five semesters of the program are the foundational phase of the four-year medical degree curriculum prepares students for their first major licensing exam, the USMLE Step 1. MUA’s team works closely with students to create individualized academic plans to ensure success on this critical exam.
In the third and fourth years, students travel to the U.S. or Canada to complete five semesters of clinical rotations at MUA-affiliated teaching hospitals, clinics, and medical centres. During this phase, students engage in diagnosing and treating real patients under the supervision of medical professionals, gaining valuable hands-on experience. This period also helps students determine the medical specialty they wish to pursue in residency.
MUA’s curriculum is built around six core competencies essential for the successful practice of medicine. These competencies guide the education and training students receive throughout the program.

Student Reviews (3)
I chose MUA for the small class sizes, it was more affordable than the other Caribbean schools and the guidance and mentorship I received from professors were very valuable.
My professors at MUA were really perfect and I was super prepared for my clinical rotations. I felt so secure in the knowledge that I had from my basic sciences work.
