Professional Firefighter Qualifications

The firefighter training program, delivered in partnership with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, goes beyond National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, offering extensive hands-on practice and real-world training scenarios at the Saskatchewan Emergency Response Institute (SERI).

Recognized and endorsed by fire departments as a key credential for new hires, this program equips students with essential firefighting skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in municipal fire services or for advancing their training in specialized emergency response fields.

Admission Requirements

• Minimum of 50% in Grade 12 English, Math, and any Grade 11 science.
• Written exam for air brakes.
• First Aid and level C CPR.
• Interview.
