At Windsor, the General Engineering program begins with a common first year that gives students the chance to explore core engineering fields — civil, environmental, electrical, industrial, and mechanical — before choosing a specialization in second year.
Students take courses covering forces, motion and mechanics; electricity and magnetism; material and chemical interactions; mathematics and its engineering applications; graphical and design communications; technical writing; computing fundamentals; and professional and ethical considerations in engineering.
This generalized introduction year means students are better prepared to make decisions about their future careers, which can include anything from pollution control, to automotive product development.
