Police Foundations and Security

triOS College’s Police Foundations and Security program offers a comprehensive starting point for those seeking a career in law enforcement or protective services. Designed in response to the growing demand for policing and security professionals, the program provides students with foundational knowledge in modern policing techniques, the Canadian Charter and Criminal Code, criminology, conflict management, and ethics. With instruction led by qualified educators and retired police officers, learners gain practical insights into interviewing, investigating, courtroom procedures, and forensic evidence, ensuring they develop the skills required to navigate today’s complex public safety landscape.

Students also participate in hands-on training that integrates fitness, communication, and real-world policing scenarios, helping them build confidence and job-readiness before entering the field. Delivered across multiple campus locations, the program combines classroom learning with an internship that reinforces professional skills and practical experience. With this well-rounded foundation, graduates are prepared to pursue opportunities in policing, security, bylaw enforcement, corrections, and other public safety roles.

An 8-week optional internship is available.

Admission Requirements

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
• Current clear police check and Consent Form from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
