The Bachelor of Applied Technology (Honours) – Construction Management is a four-year degree designed to provide students with in-demand skills for the evolving construction industry. The comprehensive curriculum covers sustainable design, planning, construction methods, and management, financial, and leadership skills, enabling graduates to successfully initiate, plan, and oversee construction projects.

The program uses a project-based learning approach, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-life projects. Three co-op work terms offer valuable industry experience to complement academic studies. This degree focuses on personal and professional development, providing opportunities for both independent and collaborative work in construction management.

Graduates are well-prepared for careers in roles such as Construction Manager, Project Manager, Site Superintendent, and others in this growing field. The program also meets the academic requirements for various professional certifications, including CAPM, PMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP, ASQ-Quality Manager, and others, positioning graduates for success in the construction industry.

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), or equivalent, OR 19 years of age or older.
  • For students with transcripts from outside of Canada, a comprehensive course-by-course credential evaluation is required.

  • Recognize and respect cultural diversity in global, societal, economic, and environmental contexts.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and recommend a project’s viability.
  • Evaluate and apply construction methods, materials, and costing to facilitate project planning and delivery.
  • Apply building systems concepts (structural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, automation) to effectively coordinate and implement in design and construction.
  • Evaluate and select sustainable design and construction alternatives.
  • Create schedules, cost estimates, and manage tenders and bids for successful project completion.
