The 23-week, full-time Fire Training certificate program is an immersive, hands-on experience designed to prepare students for entry-level careers in firefighting, industrial safety, medical first response, and beyond. In addition to fire and rescue services, graduates can pursue opportunities in the oil and gas, forestry, and mining industries.
Located in Creston, BC, training takes place at the College’s Creston campus, as well as the Town of Creston fire hall and live-fire training facility. This unique setting provides an authentic learning environment where students gain real-world experience under the guidance of seasoned firefighters and emergency services professionals.
Upon successful completion, students will earn a College of the Rockies Fire Training certificate, along with a range of ProBoard-accredited certifications, including NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level 1 and 2, NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations, and Emergency Medical Responder. Graduates will be well-equipped with the skills, knowledge, and credentials needed to excel in the fire and emergency services field.
