The Insurance and Risk Management diploma at MacEwan University equips students with critical thinking, problem-solving, and customer service skills essential for a successful career in insurance.
This program combines general business courses with insurance-specific topics such as property insurance, liability insurance, loss adjusting, underwriting, and risk management. Graduates are prepared for roles like claims adjusters, brokers, underwriters, and risk management professionals.
Students can accelerate their studies by taking spring and summer courses. The program is co-operated with the Insurance Institute of Canada, offering a path to the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
Admission Requirements
- All applicants must meet English Language Proficiency standards.
- Regular Admission: High school diploma with minimum 65% average, and no grade below 50% in required courses.
- Mature Admission: 20+ years old, out of full-time high school for at least one year, with the same course requirements as regular admission.
- Previous Post-Secondary Admission: Completed a business credential (30 credits) or 24+ university-level credits with English and Math requirements.
