The Hospital Unit Clerk certificate program at NorQuest College is a 16-week course that prepares students for administrative roles in hospital nursing units. The curriculum covers medical terminology, processing medical orders, communication skills, administrative procedures, and computer skills.

A 150-hour practicum provides hands-on experience in a hospital or long-term care setting. Graduates may pursue careers as hospital unit clerks and can receive credit toward other NorQuest programs, such as Administrative Professional.

Admission Requirements

  • Access to a Windows-based computer with a stable internet connection.
  • Keyboarding and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute before the program starts.
  • Availability to dedicate 40-50 hours per week to full-time studies.
  • Not suitable for international students due to practicum work permit timing.
