NorQuest College’s Pharmacy Technician program prepares students to become skilled, trusted professionals in the dynamic field of health care. This nationally accredited program combines comprehensive theoretical instruction with hands-on learning, ensuring graduates are fully equipped to support pharmacists in delivering safe and effective patient care. Students begin by studying core subjects such as anatomy and physiology, medication use and safety, pharmaceutical calculations, communication, and the legal and ethical framework of pharmacy practice—building a strong foundation for responsible and informed decision-making.
Practical training takes place in NorQuest’s state-of-the-art pharmacy technician lab, where students develop essential skills in compounding, sterile product preparation, inventory management, and prescription dispensing. With access to industry-standard tools like laminar airflow hoods and Kroll® software, students gain experience with the same technologies used in today’s pharmacies. The program emphasizes accuracy, safety, and interprofessional collaboration, preparing graduates to take the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) qualifying exam and succeed in diverse pharmacy environments—from hospitals and community pharmacies to specialized health care settings.
