Master of Education in Counselling

What I enjoyed most about UNB's Master of Education was exploring educational leadership from a broader perspective. I learned about different leadership theories, organizational change, supervision, and the challenges involved in creating a positive learning culture. We also discussed how leaders can respond to culturally diverse school communities and support teachers through periods of change. The program helped me develop a much more thoughtful approach to leadership and prepared me to take on greater responsibility in education.

My MEd experience at the University of New Brunswick really changed the way I think about curriculum and teaching. I learned how to assess learner needs, develop clear instructional goals, select appropriate materials, and adapt curriculum to different classroom contexts. The research courses were also valuable because I became much more confident evaluating educational research and using evidence to support my teaching decisions. I appreciated that so much of the coursework connected theory directly to practical challenges educators face.
