Students in Mohawk’s Construction Engineering Technician program will be prepared for a rewarding career in the fast-paced construction industry. Throughout the program, students will gain experience through both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical training essential for construction supervision, management, and administration. Through a blend of practical and theoretical exercises, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the construction management process, with a focus on both commercial and residential construction.
The program offers access to industry experts and a highly skilled, experienced faculty team, providing valuable insights and guidance. Students will also have opportunities for on-site practical experiences and shop projects, further enhancing their skills. The curriculum includes a mix of face-to-face and online theory classes, offering flexibility while ensuring a well-rounded education.

What You’ll Learn
- Train in carpentry: hand and power tools, wood and wood products, wood joinery and fastening systems.
- Maintain focus on workplace safety, both personal protection and observing others.
- Develop plan reading, CAD, and visualization skills needed to interpret plans, create revisions, and build projects.
- Explore traditional building and construction materials for residential and commercial construction.
- Investigate modern and green alternatives for building sustainably.
- Develop project schedules, estimates and construction management techniques.
- Review major mechanical systems found in residential and commercial construction.
- Reinforce theoretical concepts with hands-on education consisting of labs and practical projects over four semesters.
