Mohawk College’s Dressmaking program is designed to help learners develop advanced sewing and garment construction skills through hands-on practice. Focused on achieving a professional fit and finish, this program teaches students how to work with a variety of fabrics and textures while constructing creative, high-quality garments. Participants build a portfolio of samples and patterns, which serve as valuable references for future projects or career opportunities in the sewing and fashion industry.
Students gain practical experience in using sewing equipment, understanding clothing construction techniques, applying fitting standards, and making pattern alterations to enhance garment appearance and functionality. Whether learners are pursuing personal enrichment or preparing for a career in the sewing field, this program provides a strong foundation in both the creative and technical aspects of dressmaking.
