Conestoga’s Information Technology – Project Management program prepares learners for one of Canada’s fastest-growing career paths by combining core project management principles with specialized knowledge in IT environments. The program explores both Agile and traditional project management approaches, allowing students to understand how methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban compare with the more structured Waterfall model. Through a blend of theory and practical application, participants learn how to initiate, plan, execute, and complete technology-focused projects while following industry best practices.
The curriculum integrates key frameworks and standards commonly used in the field, including concepts from the Project Management Institute’s PMBOK guide, while also reflecting practices aligned with Agile project management. Students gain a strong foundation in Agile methodologies, team collaboration, and project delivery strategies that are widely used in modern IT organizations. Upon completion, graduates are well positioned to pursue industry-recognized certifications such as the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) and, with the required professional experience, the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
