This degree program offers learners a one-of-a kind experience in Canada, building on the University of Lethbridge’s Addictions Counselling program.
Here, students will immerse themselves in addictions and mental health counselling techniques on the path to becoming abuse issues counsellors, behavioural disorder counsellors, and crisis counsellors, among other similar careers. Students will be given practical skills needed to aid in treatment, prevention, and health promotion where addiction impacts peoples lives. Specifically, this program focuses on addictive behaviours and intervention strategies, including substances such as alcohol and drugs, gambling, sexual disorders, and eating disorders.
Learners will engage in courses such as adult psychotherapy, and community development and outreach.
Admission Requirements
- An approved college diploma with a minimum GPA of 3.00 on the University of Lethbridge’s 4.00 scale.
