Learners gain a strong foundation in human behaviour, social challenges, and effective helping strategies while developing practical skills through counselling labs, role-plays, case studies, and presentations from industry professionals. Field placements in London’s diverse social service and health network provide valuable hands-on experience and professional connections.
Taught by supportive and experienced faculty, the program emphasizes empathy, communication, and applied practice to help students support individuals and communities facing adversity. Graduates enter the workforce with the skills and knowledge needed to make a meaningful impact and may apply for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
