The Firefighter program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to excel as firefighters, following the professional policies and procedures of a fire department. Students develop the ability to work safely and effectively as part of a fire service team, gaining experience similar to that of large municipal fire departments. Modern firefighting extends beyond extinguishing fires—it involves rescue operations, hazardous material response, and fire prevention initiatives.

Training takes place at the NBCC Fire Training Center, a year-round facility serving firefighters across the Maritime Provinces. The learning environment replicates the professionalism, teamwork, and high standards expected at a fire station, ensuring students are well-prepared for the demands of the fire service.
