Université de Moncton’s Bachelor of Social Work program is designed for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field and are seeking to build a career dedicated to supporting individuals and communities. The program prepares generalist social workers who recognize and value the strengths and potential of the people they serve, with a strong emphasis on social justice, human dignity, and community empowerment. Students learn how to help individuals, families, groups, and communities mobilize available resources to improve living conditions and address social challenges in meaningful and sustainable ways.
The program combines theoretical learning with interactive and practice-based teaching methods that encourage the integration of knowledge and real-world application. Through lectures, case studies, workshops, seminars, role-playing activities, and supervised internships, students develop practical intervention skills across personal, family, group, and collective social work settings. Coursework also explores topics such as ethics, law, research, family dynamics, and social programs, helping students build a strong professional foundation. Graduates leave prepared to engage critically, ethically, and effectively in diverse social work environments while supporting positive social change and community well-being.
