The three-year Computer Engineering Technology – Computing Science Ontario College Advanced Diploma program equips students with the skills and knowledge for an IT career in both private and public sectors. The curriculum focuses on IT-based analytical thinking and problem-solving for software system operations and development. Students learn various programming languages (Java, C#, C++, C) and operating systems (Windows, Unix/Linux, QNX), along with tools for designing, coding, and testing applications.
In the final year, students collaborate on real-world projects to develop comprehensive software applications. They can also choose electives, such as game programming, business programming (Cobol), and data analytics. The majority of the program covers systems programming, software development, testing, and maintenance, with additional courses in communication skills, mathematics, and general education.
Students may gain real-world experience through a paid co-op work term, subject to availability and academic eligibility. However, admission to the co-op program does not guarantee placement.
