The Plumbing program at New Brunswick Community College equips students with the technical knowledge and hands-on skills required to succeed in the plumbing trade. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical training, students learn to assemble, install, and repair pipes, fixtures, and fittings, while gaining expertise in hot water systems, sewage systems, and residential water distribution. The program emphasizes interpreting blueprints, applying building codes, and safely operating hand and power tools, preparing graduates to tackle plumbing projects efficiently and effectively.
Students also develop essential workplace competencies, including communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, alongside a strong foundation in mathematics and spatial visualization. The curriculum covers safety regulations, rigging and hoisting, oxy-fuel welding, and the use of architectural and piping drawings and symbols.
