This program combines theory and hands-on training to equip students with advanced skills for fire suppression and specialized technical rescue.
The program accepts graduates of any Pre-Service Firefighter Education & Training program in Ontario, as well as current fire service personnel through a Prior Learning Assessment, allowing direct entry into the Fire Science Technology program.
Graduates gain specialized expertise, technical knowledge, and over 300 hours of practical experience, preparing them for careers in fire suppression and emergency rescue. The program’s internationally recognized National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) certifications enhance employability and long-term career advancement.
Admission Requirements
- Pre-Service Firefighter Education & Training Certificate, or equivalent (NFPA 1001, 1072).
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Grade 12 English, college or university.
- Grade 11 or 12 Math, college or university.
- Grade 11 or 12 Chemistry, college or university.
