The St. Catharine’s Flying Club offers a forty-five-hour private ground school continuously throughout the year. The course exceeds Transport Canada standards and provides student pilots with the information and knowledge needed to pass the private pilot exam.
To obtain a Private Pilot’s Licence, pilots must complete a minimum of forty-five hours of private pilot flight training with a flight instructor. Flight training shall include a minimum of seventeen hours dual instruction, twelve hours solo flight time, and a flight of one hundred and fifty nautical miles with two full stop landings at points other than the airport of departure. Pilots are also required to successfully complete a flight test for the private pilot licence. This can be done with the Designated Flight Test Examiner on staff at the St. Catharine’s Flying Club
The tuition, scheduling, and length of training is based on availability and subject to change.
