Psychology is the study of behaviour and its biological basis. It seeks to understand the behaviour of living organisms through scientific research and to use the accumulated knowledge to promote the welfare of humans and other animals.

The Major programs in psychology at Memorial University of Newfoundland provide students with a solid background in the science of psychology, and culminate with small classes offering direct, hands-on experience in conducting research in a wide variety of areas.

A major in Psychology can be completed as a B.A. or a B. Sc.  The Psychology component of the B.A. and B.Sc. major programs are identical.  The programs are designed to provide broad coverage of the major areas of psychology while allowing flexibility in pursuing topics in more detail.

I've had a really positive experience. The program covers all the essentials — accounting, marketing, management — while also encouraging critical thinking and problem-solving in real-world business scenarios. I’ve enjoyed the hands-on projects and chances to collaborate with local businesses, which have boosted both my skills and confidence.

I’m really glad I chose the Engineering program at Memorial University of Newfoundland. It’s challenging but rewarding, with a great balance of theory and paid co-op work terms that give you real experience before you graduate.

The professors are knowledgeable, and there’s a strong community feel in labs and projects. It’s a respected, accredited program, and while it’s demanding, it’s absolutely worth it if you’re serious about becoming an engineer.
