Today, Data Scientists play an integral role in helping companies both big and small predict industry trends, launch new products, and innovate based on consumer needs. Data Science is all about extracting insights from data to drive decision making, and is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing and in-demand disciplines in technology today. It requires statistical analysis and programming fundamentals, two core skills that allow Data Scientists to make predictive decisions derived from large data sets. Take any major data-driven tech company – Amazon, Netflix, Google – the work of Data Scientists is crucial to their customer experience and success.
This course introduces learners to statistical analysis using Python and gradually builds into learning and applying programmed models that can derive insights from common data sets such as CSV’s and Databases. By the end of this course learners will understand how to import CSV’s of data into a Python environment and perform analysis. Additionally, learners will learn more about the online Data Science communities and how people share and study data collaboratively.

I recently completed the 8-week certificate course in UX Design. The course was in-person (save for one class that was online due to a snowstorm). The environment was super supportive and I really appreciated the chance to learn from instructors who have high-level industry experience. Likewise, I learned new tools and ways of thinking that I will continue to utilize as I advance in my career. Highly recommend.

I started this Bootcamp in January 2025 from one of Brainstation's recruiters messaging me on LinkedIn as part of the Code to Career program (Canadian subsidy towards their bootcamp), and I found that it's a very structured program. I enjoyed the teachings and lessons, and the career support has been helpful so far.
Pros:
- Excellent teachers who enjoy the lessons hence making the teachings enjoyable
- Proper post bootcamp support; you don't feel thrown out once it's over
- Cameras required to be on; definitely a pro as it helped me focus better, and helped me connect with classmates better
- The 3 months definitely made me feel like I got a boost in web development and definitely improved my coding skills through their readings, homework, projects, hackathons and daily challenges.
- They really emphasize the use of LinkedIn and networking and sending high quality applications; definitely a pro as I will be competing with Comp Sci degree holders so their career support is very streamlined and consistent.
Cons:
- Potential information overload, where some concepts were squished within the 3 month timeframe.
- Uncertainty of career prospects as there is no clear explanation of the connections provided (which doesn't really count as a con as they don't have to disclose that kind of information).
Overall the only complaint is that it's very heavy information wise; if you can prepare beforehand with free curriculums you'll have a good head start and reduce the pain of learning too many new concepts.
Job prospect wise, unsure. From the process so far I definitely do feel confident in my job hunting progress so far though (as they provide weekly career workshops, and biweekly career mentor sessions). Excellent program nonetheless.
