The Canadian Securities Course (CSC®) is a widely recognized credential that provides the foundational knowledge required to build and advance a career in Canada’s financial services industry. Covering the Canadian investment marketplace, economic forces, and regulatory environment, the course equips learners with a comprehensive understanding of financial instruments—including fixed income, equities, derivatives, mutual funds, ETFs, hedge funds, and alternative mutual funds. Participants also explore corporate financial statements, investment and portfolio analysis, asset allocation, taxation, fee-based accounts, ethics, Client Focused Reforms, and the institutional marketplace.

Through eight structured sections, learners develop the skills to analyze company, industry, and market performance; apply portfolio management principles; and effectively serve clients within regulatory and ethical standards. The CSC® supports those pursuing roles such as investment advisor, investment representative, mutual funds licensed representative, exempt market representative, financial planner, or banking professional, as well as active investors seeking deeper portfolio management knowledge. It also fulfills proficiency requirements for dealing in mutual funds and alternative mutual funds in Canada.
