As a DeGroote School of Business alumnus, McMaster offers a close-knit community, and a balanced social scene. However, it lacks resources compared to larger schools, and the accounting program can be tough to navigate with limited faculty access. Career development, especially for internships, is weaker than at schools like Waterloo. First and second years focus on memorization, while third and fourth years provide more specialized, hands-on learning. It’s a solid choice, but if you're focused on accounting, other schools might offer better opportunities.

I found McMaster's MBA program very much depended on the people around you, as a cohort, or in group projects and case studies.

The school is really known for problem based learning, which is entirely dependant on groups of people working together to come to a solution.

We didn't have as many traditional exams as other programs, instead focusing on meeting goals in a learning contract which was signed by the students and professor at the beginning of the semester. This would act as our outline for the term and provide us with insight as to what to expect.
