This course is designed as an introductory experience to the French language. It focuses on developing competencies in French through authentic learning tasks that prepare learners for real-life application. Online activities are used to promote skill development in listening, speaking, reading, and writing within both personal and professional contexts. Learners apply communication strategies to strengthen interpersonal skills, convey information, and explain and respond to messages in familiar situations. The course also supports the development of lifelong learning skills that are transferable to employment. The targeted second-language proficiency aligns with Level 2 requirements of the Canadian Language Benchmarks for French (NCLC).
