This licence is the base qualification for Canadian pilots which allows them to fly single engine aircraft under daytime conditions. Pilots typically add ratings and qualifications to their private pilot licence as they need, and as they become more experienced.
Durham Flight Centre’s Private Pilot Licence program includes ground school, thirty-two hours of dual flight instruction, twenty hours of solo flight practice, ten hours of pre-flight preparatory instruction, five hours of dual Redbird FTD (simulator), as well as all examination and licencing fees.
The scheduling and length of training is based on availability and subject to change.
Instructors are focused in helping people achieve their licence.

Durham Flight Centre is a very professional and safe Flight Training Unit. I recently completed my PPL and CPL flight training at this school with nothing but positives to say about its Instructors, Dispatch and Management Teams. Flight training is an expensive and mentally taxing endeavor, but it doesn’t mean the fun factor of flying or aviation should become secondary throughout your training experience and DFC ensures students are happy when they reflect on their training progress. DFC has an environment where students can stop and ask questions to any instructor as everyone is willing to help you throughout the training process. I have personally found DFC has a very “we have all been there” kind of attitude and instructors try their best to get you where you need to be as safely, efficiently and inexpensively as possible. DFC’s dispatch team is a fun bunch who are always ready to help with booking, scheduling, fueling etc. Management is very helpful with tax forms, letters of recommendation, LOC forms and any other student needs that may arise, where they can assist. I am continuing my training at DFC to complete Multi and Multi-IFR ratings. As a part-time student I have spent every weekend for the last two years at this flight training unit, while working a full-time job and I would highly recommend this FTU to any new aspiring pilot or pilots considering additional ratings. Do your own research and Good luck!
