Web & Development Fundamentals

Eastern College’s **Web & Development Fundamentals** program provides a comprehensive introduction to the skills and knowledge needed to launch a career in software development. Students gain hands-on experience through projects that mirror industry processes, preparing them for real-world challenges. The program also offers eligibility for industry-recognized certifications and includes an 8-week internship, allowing students to apply their skills in professional settings and graduate job-ready. Additionally, students learn to leverage AI tools and advanced online resources to streamline tasks, giving them a competitive edge in today’s fast-paced tech landscape.

Over the course of the program, students develop a strong foundation in web and software development, covering graphic design with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, prototyping with Adobe XD, and creating websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress, hosted on Linux servers in the cloud. They also gain experience programming in Java and Swift, building versatile skills applicable to mobile and web development. The curriculum emphasizes industry-standard tools, frameworks, UI/UX design principles, and agile processes, equipping students with practical, hands-on experience that prepares them for success in the evolving software development industry.

Admission Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent or meets criteria for Mature Student Status.
