School bus drivers are highly trained professionals who have obtained a special driving license. To drive a school bus in Ontario, drivers need a B Class license. Upon completion of Class B, drivers are qualified to drive any school purposes bus and may also drive vehicle in Class C, D, E, F and G.
Friendly Truck Driving School’s Class B License includes ten Lessons in vehicle (45 minutes each) with a vehicle provided for one road test.
Minimum Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Meet medical and vision standards.
- Must have valid Ontario driver’s license “G” or higher.
- Not have accumulated more than 6 demerit points.
- Not have had a driver’s license under suspension at any time within the preceding 12 months as a result of being convicted of certain driving related and Criminal Code of Canada offenses.
- Effective January 1, 2017, MTO requires drivers who are applying for a Class B or E license to obtain a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters (CRJM) Check or equivalent.
