Voice Acting Foundations

The Voice Acting Foundations Program provides prospective voice actors with an accessible introduction to the world of voice acting and narration for commercials, animation, and other projects. Taught by industry professionals, the program helps students develop foundational performance skills while learning how to approach auditions, work effectively with clients, and showcase their talents in both Canadian and international markets. Students gain practical experience with industry-standard software and explore the fundamentals of professional voice-over production.

The program includes three core courses: Introduction to Voice Acting, Home Audio Production for Voice Acting, and Business of Voice Acting. Students learn script analysis, studio etiquette, audition techniques, performance skills, home studio setup, audio recording and editing, and professional audition standards. They also develop essential business and marketing knowledge, including invoicing, pay scales, networking, online presence, and strategies for connecting with casting directors, agents, and clients.
