Humber’s Landscape Technician diploma program is based on the principles of sustainability, conservation, and environmental sensitivity. Students learn about landscape design and development, site construction, general horticulture, ground maintenance, and related technologies through a combination of in-class studies and hands-on landscape training.

Humber has exceptional facilities for landscape education. The Humber Arboretum, for example, is a 250-acre botanical garden centered on the west branch of the Humber River, surrounding Humber’s North Campus. It includes ornamental, woodland and wildlife gardens serving as a unique living classroom for plant studies, construction, arboricultural and horticultural skills. Their construction lab is housed in a weather-protected 8,000-square-foot facility which allows learners to potentially build full-scale structures such as decks, gazebos and retaining walls. In a modern greenhouse setting students can propagate and nurture plants, learning the processes of plant propagation, plant growth and production. Humber’s computer labs use the latest in computer-aided design (CAD) software, taught throughout the design courses, enabling students to prepare professional construction documents. Computer proficiency is a necessity. Computers are readily available and used extensively to complete both lab and course work.

Studying in Fashion Arts and Business. Love how knowledgeable my instructors are, filled with relevant industry knowledge. And always helping our class out with tips, new connections and advice from their own experience. Besides that, the school is very clean and well organized.
