The Bachelor of Paralegal Studies program at Humber College is a four-year honours degree accredited by the Law Society of Ontario as a recognized paralegal education program. The curriculum blends legal theory with practical training to prepare students for careers as licensed paralegals. Throughout the program, students study a wide range of legal subjects including tort law, contract law, evidence, advocacy, negotiation and mediation, ethics and professional responsibility, insurance law, and employment law. Courses also develop essential legal writing, research, and litigation skills while introducing students to tribunal practices, administrative law, and court procedures within Canada’s legal system.

In addition to legal training, the program emphasizes understanding the broader social context of clients and legal issues. Students complete elective courses in areas such as social sciences, humanities, and science, helping them develop a well-rounded perspective when representing clients. A field experience placement provides hands-on learning in a professional legal environment, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world situations. By the end of the program, graduates are equipped with strong analytical, advocacy, and professional skills needed to pursue licensure and build a career in the legal field.

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.

What You’ll Learn

  • Apply legal principles in areas such as tort, contract, employment, and insurance law.
  • Conduct legal research, writing, and case preparation for tribunals and courts.
  • Practice advocacy, negotiation, mediation, and dispute resolution techniques.
  • Gain real-world legal experience through field placement and practical training.

I recently took the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for Digital Marketers and Communications program at Humber Polytechnic and found it really practical and easy to follow. It breaks down AI concepts in a way that actually makes sense for marketers, without getting overly technical.

I liked that we focused on real-world tools and use cases — from content creation to analytics — and how to apply AI strategically rather than just chasing trends. It’s a great starting point for anyone in marketing or communications who wants to understand how AI can fit into their day-to-day work.
