Humber College’s Community and Justice Services diploma program prepares students to support safer, healthier communities by applying social justice, restorative justice, and anti-oppressive frameworks within both community and institutional justice settings. The program equips learners to work with individuals involved in the justice system as well as other marginalized populations, focusing on creating meaningful pathways for rehabilitation, accountability, and transformative change.

The curriculum blends theory with applied learning through interactive instruction that develops strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, group facilitation, and non-violent crisis intervention skills. Students learn to critically examine and deconstruct oppressive systems while gaining the ability to design community programs, support correctional and community-based initiatives, and respond proactively to community needs. A key component of the program is an intensive 400-hour field placement, along with work-integrated learning opportunities and micro-credentials, all designed to provide hands-on experience and prepare graduates for entry-level roles in community and justice services.

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.

What You’ll Learn

  • Develop skills in restorative justice, social justice, and anti-oppressive practice to support safer communities.

I recently took the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for Digital Marketers and Communications program at Humber Polytechnic and found it really practical and easy to follow. It breaks down AI concepts in a way that actually makes sense for marketers, without getting overly technical.

I liked that we focused on real-world tools and use cases — from content creation to analytics — and how to apply AI strategically rather than just chasing trends. It’s a great starting point for anyone in marketing or communications who wants to understand how AI can fit into their day-to-day work.
