The Professional Music Production and Engineering program at Humber equips students with the advanced technical and creative skills needed to succeed in today’s music production industry. Designed as an intensive eight-month program, it provides hands-on training in professional recording studios where students refine their abilities in recording, editing, mixing, and mastering. The curriculum emphasizes high-level production theory alongside practical studio experience, allowing students to support undergraduate recording sessions while working alongside experienced engineers. Through this immersive learning environment, students develop both technical expertise and confidence in creative leadership within professional music production settings.
Students also explore current industry trends, technologies, and sustainable business practices for freelance and independent music professionals. The program features courses in contemporary music mixing, electronic music production, mastering, immersive and spatial audio technology, and emerging topics in music production. Guided by experienced industry professionals—including acclaimed engineers such as 2026 Grammy Award winner Justin Gray—students complete a mentor-supported capstone project where they produce professional portfolio work. With access to state-of-the-art facilities and opportunities to collaborate with Humber’s Bachelor of Music faculty, students graduate with industry-ready skills and a strong portfolio that supports career opportunities in music production, engineering, and audio technology.
