This 16-hour micro-credential is a corporate training program offered on demand to construction firms. Pricing and timing are tailored to the number of learners and cohorts.

Humber Polytechnic’s Project Coordinator for Construction (PCC) micro-credential is a pioneering program designed to meet a critical need in the construction industry. Developed in collaboration with Canadian construction leader Pomerleau, this course prepares learners for the essential role of Project Coordinator—a key position that supports Project Managers and Superintendents on large-scale construction projects.

The PCC program reflects current industry standards and progressive practices, using technology to support the work, data-driven decision-making, and quality control. With limited existing dedicated training for this role in the industry, the micro-credential fills a significant gap, offering a unique opportunity for learners to gain job-ready skills and increase their employability.

Learners will engage in a blend of asynchronous theory modules and practical, in-class simulations, guided by industry Subject Matter Experts. Through exercises such as managing RFIs, scheduling trades, organizing materials, and interpreting construction drawings, participants gain hands-on experience that mirrors real job responsibilities.

The course also includes a “Page Turn” exercise, where learners demonstrate their ability to extract project-specific requirements and coordinate effectively with teams, consultants, and stakeholders.

Ideal for those entering the construction field or seeking to transition into a project coordination role, this micro-credential provides a clear, structured pathway to leadership positions within the industry.

The Project Coordinator for Construction micro-credential has been recognized by the Canadian Construction Association | Association canadienne de la construction, now granting learners 5 credits toward the Gold Seal Certification. This recognition further strengthens the pathway for aspiring project coordinators to advance their professional credentials and distinguish themselves within Canada’s construction industry.

Dates available upon demand.

What You’ll Learn

  • Explain how bid documents evolve into legally binding contracts.
  • Demonstrate how to use construction drawings and specifications to verify materials, workmanship and maintain quality during the duration of the project.
  • Prioritize tasks during a page turn by identifying critical dependencies and subsequently scheduling effectively to avoid conflicts.
  • Determine task dependencies to schedule stakeholder collaboration effectively and prioritize corrective actions to mitigate the impact of schedule delays on project timelines.
  • Synthesize contract documents, specifications, stakeholders into a cohesive scheduled project execution plan.

I recently took the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence for Digital Marketers and Communications program at Humber Polytechnic and found it really practical and easy to follow. It breaks down AI concepts in a way that actually makes sense for marketers, without getting overly technical.

I liked that we focused on real-world tools and use cases — from content creation to analytics — and how to apply AI strategically rather than just chasing trends. It’s a great starting point for anyone in marketing or communications who wants to understand how AI can fit into their day-to-day work.
