This post-graduate certificate in Victimology prepares students to support individuals and communities impacted by crime and trauma within the criminal justice system. Through a trauma-informed, victim-centered, and intersectional lens, students explore topics such as intergenerational trauma, childhood abuse, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, technology-facilitated violence, and sex trafficking.
The curriculum emphasizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, and equips graduates with skills in risk assessment, referral, advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration with legal and victim service agencies. A capstone project offers hands-on experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating victim services, providing a strong foundation for careers in victim advocacy and support.
