The Fire Protection Engineering Technology advanced diploma is a dynamic three-year program that immerses students in hands-on learning, state-of-the-art fire protection labs, and real-world emergency scenarios. From live fire demonstrations and hazardous materials operations to fire investigations and industry regulations, this program delivers a comprehensive education in fire protection and life safety.
Guided by expert faculty, students develop the professional knowledge and practical skills needed for careers in both the fire service and the private fire protection industry. Flexible learning options and a robust curriculum ensure graduates are prepared for a wide range of career paths, whether in fire prevention, code enforcement, fire suppression, or fire protection system design and maintenance.
Graduates have the option to transfer into the Firefighter, Pre-Service Education and Training program or other specialized programs within the School of Fire Protection Engineering Technology. With this three-year advanced diploma—recognized as a preferred qualification for firefighter applications in Ontario—graduates are well-positioned for success in the evolving and essential fire protection industry.
