Students in the Toronto Metropolitan University’s Biomedical Engineering – BEng program learn to create new materials, devices, algorithms and processes that assist doctors and medical researchers with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and conditions. Students graduate with the skills needed to transform lives in emerging areas of health care or clinical engineering.
Optional specializations in Management Sciences and Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship are available while participating in leading-edge research projects. In the fourth year, students study a range of state-of-the-art topics in biomedical engineering, and will also be involved in a hands-on capstone design project.
Students have the option to enrol in a paid co-op program for an additional fifth year.
