Biomedical engineers make a difference in community and global health. Students in the Toronto Metropolitan University’s Biomedical Engineering – BEng program learn to create new materials, devices, algorithms and processes that assist doctors and medical researchers with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and conditions. Students graduate with the skills needed to transform lives in emerging areas of health care or clinical engineering.

Optional specializations in Management Sciences and Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship are available  while participating in leading-edge research projects. In the fourth year, students study a range of state-of-the-art topics in biomedical engineering, and will also be involved in a hands-on capstone design project.

Students have the option to enrol in a paid co-op program for an additional fifth year.

Great university for any entrepreneurial individuals finishing a degree. The entrepreneurship and innovation support that is open to all students is wonderful. And the electrical engineering program is great. Modern style campus.

After moving across the country from British Columbia to Toronto, Toronto Metropolitan University provided an environment that was welcoming and homey. Large enough to have many opportunities to meet new people everyday, but small enough to feel connected to everyone, including teachers, as part of the family. Most teachers know you by your first name, and care about the education and success of students in the classroom and as individuals.

I am still a student here and TMU makes me excited for what I will be learning during my next two years here! I feel like the level of education here will provide me with the knowledge and hands-on experience in my field of study to be successful later in life.
