In today’s data-focused world, data science is proving to be one of the most interesting, lucrative and versatile career paths to pursue. Understanding the principles of data science and knowing how to use data analysis techniques is a valuable skill set applicable to a wide range of professions and sectors. Developed and taught by instructors from the UBC Master of Data Science program, Key Capabilities in Data Science is a 150-hour online program that provides learners with a solid foundation in data science combined with hands-on experience applying data analysis to real-world cases. Students learn how to analyze and interpret data to inform strategies and make smart data-driven business decisions.
The program consists of three courses: a prerequisite course and two electives, ranging from seven to nine weeks each. Each course takes approximately 50 hours to complete.
Programming in Python for Data Science is the prerequisite course in the program and must be completed before starting any electives. The electives can be taken in any order.
