Leaders and team members often face challenges that stem from unconscious assumptions and cultural misunderstandings. These issues can show up in everyday decisions, such as hiring, promotions, or team collaboration, and may unintentionally create barriers to equity and inclusion.

This workshop addresses these real-world situations by providing practical strategies to recognize and interrupt bias, foster trust, and build a culture where every voice is valued.

What You’ll Learn

  • Examine how perceptions, values, and beliefs influence decision-making.
  • Distinguish between culture, diversity, equality, equity, and intercultural competence.
  • Apply decoding tools to uncover unconscious bias and strengthen inclusive leadership practices.
  • Use the DMIS to develop an intercultural mindset.
  • Identify strategies to increase self-awareness and avoid micro-inequities.
  • Create a practical action plan.

This program had a good balance of theory and practical work. We did programming, embedded systems, networking — a bit of everything without it being too shallow. Group projects were a lot, and some courses were tougher than others, but the small-class vibe made it easy to get help. If you like building things and want something more applied than straight CS, it’s a good fit.
